FAQs for CardWoo

Why was CardWoo created?

Gift Card ImageCardWoo was formed to give the owners of unwanted gift cards an opportunity to exchange them for cash. CardWoo solves the problem of what to do with those undesirable gift cards languishing in drawers.

How does Card Woo Work?

Customers can go online and print a shipping label which they can use to mail in their unwanted gift cards. Or customers call or go online to request a FREE PACK, which they then use to mail in their unwanted gift cards. CardWoo purchases the cards, sending payment promptly. Customers can also use the CardWoo website to purchase gift cards to their favorite merchants at discount prices.

Is there a minimum balance that has to be on a card for me to mail it in?

Yes. We only buy cards with at least $20.00 on them.

Why is there a minimum required?

Card Woo covers all the costs of shipping, insurance and track-ability for our customers. Unfortunately it is simply not feasible for us to provide this service on cards which have tiny balances, especially since we offer those cards for re-sale on our site. So if you send in a pack with low value or no value cards we have to charge you for Shipping and Handling if you want them returned.

I have only a small amount of money on a gift card. What can I do with it?

Some states require merchants to redeem their gift cards with low balances. While we don’t give legal advice, we are happy to pass along this information to you. For example, in California consumers can redeem for cash from the issuing retailer gift cards having $10 or less, while in Massachusetts, Maine and Montana cards with $5 or less in remaining value can be exchanged for cash and in Vermont, this applies to cards with $1 or less. Please consult the laws of your state for more information.

How many cards can I send in to CardWoo?

You are welcome to send in as many as you like. We recommend you send no more than 6 gift cards in one package. If you have more than 6 gift cards to send just call or e-mail us and we will assist you.

In e-commerce things move fast, and our CardWoo prices are always being adjusted. However, if a customer is in the process of purchasing a gift card from CardWoo and the price changes, then we will honor the greater discounted price for the customer so that he/she gets the best price.

Can I ship the gift cards that I purchase to an address that differs from my billing address?

At present we mail out purchased cards only to addresses that match customer billing addresses. We are considering making changes in the future that would enable customers to have cards mailed to alternate addresses, but we don’t do that right now.
